Today is a fun day! Woots!
Haha. We had our storytelling workshop. Turns out our drama instructor taught one of the Sec 1 class last year, for Speech and Drama. Her name is Maria. AND I THINK SHE IS SO GODDAMN COOL. Well people say she is over-dramatic with her silly and exaggerated actions but I think she is really great. The workshop was like a typical speech and drama lesson and that's why I love it!!
We were splitted up into different groups. And I met some interesting people. They were quite sociable and friendly, unlke those I have seen before in a typical boring workshop. I still can remember their names: Vivian from Commonwealth Sec, Lucinda from Fuhua Sec, "Fazi" from Unity Sec, Yee sheng from Yuhua Sec. Hehe. They are a really interesting bunch of people.
We had to perform a skit. Duh. Typical. And it's about an old lecherous man being conned by two teenage girls. Apparently it's a crimewatch re-enactment. Guess who is that stupid innocent pevertic balding man? Uh huh. YOURS TRULY. HAWR HAWR.
Well, we thought that switching gender may add humour to the show. So the old man should be a girl, and one of the sexy teenage girl a guy. So anyway, before this whole thing about the skit and whatever, we had to learn how to change our voice, to adhere to the different characters. I was assigned a passage and was supposed to read it like a slow old man. Uh huh. They said I did well, so I MUST be the old man in the skit.
I was totally disgusted by myself, at the same time impressed. I did the role quite well, judging from the applause and laughter given. Haha. Guess what, I had to like shake my leg and put my leg up like an "Ah Beng" and whistle at sexayye girls(though I can't whistle) and am supposed to peep into a girl's clothes. Anyway, that person was a guy, and I didn't really go peep okay.
We did well. And I love myself for being able to go beyond my usual normal narration and finally join the acting world. Haha. Well, apparently most of the skits I am in, Yours truly is the narrator. I am not ver sure, but this is probably the second time I actually really acted in a skit?!
I love drama lessons. It's like the only time I can really be myself and no one will laugh at me when I am too over-dramatic. I am a kind of "drama queen", only you people haven't really seen that part of me yet. If you guys already think I am dramatic, brace yourselves when you see the drama side of me.
Of course, we no join this cause for nothing. We have to participate in a storytelling competition on August 4th. So people wish me luck! I do hope I can help win some glory for RV. Haha.
Tomorrow I will be at Science Centre. Haha. Anyone wanna join me? JKJK. I have to usher for a Stoopid Science Fair. Argh. IN BLAZER?! Lucky there's aircon. And lots of fun at Science Centre. Ha.
